Thanksgiving Travel Guide

Thanksgiving break is just around the corner, and traveling back home can be difficult. There are so many things to prepare before you pack up and leave Harrisonburg for the week! Here is my Thanksgiving Travel Guide to be prepared to go home and have a relaxing break:

  • Make sure you have a ride home! If you have a car, make sure it is filled with gas. If you need to carpool home, the best resource is using the JMURides Facebook page.

  • Check what assignments you have to complete when you come back. You don’t want to leave for break and come back with 100 things to do! Spread your workload out over break.

  • Make sure to pack all your necessary items. Grab some t-shirts, sweatpants, a toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, glasses or contacts (if you have them), and make sure to pack some cute casual clothes! Everyone from your hometown will be on break too, and will probably want to grab dinner.

  • Don’t forget to unplug all your outlets and turn off your lights. You won’t be running up your electric bill, and you will be helping the environment. Double win!

  • Lastly, do not forget to bring your key and spare key!! I always lose my house key, so make sure to leave one in your backpack and untouched.
