Dr. Chang Wan “Isaac” Woo
Faculty Director
Dr. Chang Wan “Isaac” Woo is a professor of communication studies at JMU, teaching public relations and sports communication courses. He has published his research in academic journals, including Public Relations Review and Journalism and Mass Communication Quarterly, focusing on crisis communication and sports public relations. Dr. Woo has served as a faculty director of Bluestone Communications since 2020, directing multiple teams to receive the Virginia Student PR Award from the PRSA Richmond Chapter.
Dr. Yufan “Sunny” Qin
Assistant Faculty Director
Yufan “Sunny” Qin, Ph.D. is an Assistant Professor of Public Relations in the School of Communication Studies at James Madison University. Her background is primarily in internal communication, leadership communication, employee engagement, corporate social advocacy, and relationship management. She received the PRNEWS Social Impact Diversity Leader Award for Graduate Student of the Year and the competitive Cision Insights Fellowship from the Institute of Public Relations in 2022. She also won multiple research paper awards from major communication and public relations conferences. She primarily teaches courses in the public relations concentration, including public relations campaigns and advanced research methods.
