In our society today, brands and businesses have the ability to reach their desired clientele with a few clicks, but is this the best way to make a true connection? Each day internet users are faced with tens, if not hundreds, of digital ads that are prescribed to them through a series of complex data, but this doesn’t always leave a meaningful imprint. These digital strategies feel impersonal despite their wide reach and consumers are looking for a real-life connection. This is where events and face-to-face interactions come in.

Events are not simply gatherings, but also serve as opportunities for brands to build true connections that lead to lasting results. At events, companies are able to bring in speakers, facilitate breakout rooms, and so on in order to make their top consumers feel cared for, making it a highly overlooked PR strategy.

Events are the Prime Location to Build Real Relationships; Not Digital Ones

When companies initiate thoughtfully prepared events, they are able to create schedules and plan activations that directly communicate their brand identity and sentiment to the people that need to hear it most. Through planned dinners, cocktail hours, or networking receptions, connection is prioritized and technology is put away.

Additionally, in spaces like these, brands are able to have their leaders speak directly to their audiences to convey an authenticity that is lost through online communication. By allowing audiences to ask direct questions, it makes the overall brand feel more approachable, strengthening the company’s image.

Furthermore, well-scheduled events allow for leading industry professionals to connect and build relationships face-to-face rather than over the phone. By providing a platform for connection, businesses are remembered for creating a meaningful experience and a new community.

Events Give Brand the Opportunity to Create an Experience

In our day-to-day lives, we connect with brands by simply seeing or hearing from them, but could these companies be doing more?

Through a curated event, you allow consumers to experience your business on a deeper level. In doing so, brands are able to control elements such as their venue, decor, food and beverage, and hospitality, ultimately designing an atmosphere that provides a fresh perspective for their client. By showing your audience that you care about them in real life, you create a sense of unmatched authenticity that cannot be found in something like an Instagram ad.

With this, every detail can communicate a different element of the company. Through free samples, gift bags, memorabilia displays, unique activations, photo opportunities, and so much more, businesses can reinforce their brand identity in a personal and memorable way.

Overall: Why Events Matter in PR

Events serve as both a familiar and fresh way to solidify brand awareness and are a tactic that every PR firm should be ready to utilize. By inviting key audiences and stakeholders to curated experiences shaped by the company’s leaders, you allow for a burst of new content to be made.

Through well-thought out experiences, businesses have the opportunity to: generate media opportunities, celebrate milestones, connect with consumers, launch campaigns or products, and strengthen relationships across the board.

Whether they are large or small, events provide the opportunity for brands to engage in face-to-face communication and build a community.
