Regulating Stress During the Semester

Stress finds a way to creep into our lives regardless of whether or not we feel able to deal with it. Stress has the ability to overtake us if we do not take time to care for ourselves. Here are a few things I have learned throughout my college experience that has minimalized the amount of stress I put myself under:

- While grades are important, they are not the most important factor of the college learning experience. College experiences can pass by in the blink of an eye, and it is important to enjoy the fun parts of the college lifestyle.

- Make mistakes and do not fear failure. While we have been told the opposite throughout our generation over the years, I encourage others to not fixate on perfection. Perfection does not exist – you can only continue to improve yourself and your work ethic.

- Find time to create a work-life balance for yourself to level out your stress as well as your schedule.
