Igniting Your Creative Spark

'

Sometimes, your creative juices are just not flowing. There is nothing worse than being stuck in a creative rut. When working on a schedule or trying to meet a deadline, these creative stumps in the road can be very stressful and frustrating. However, don't fret. Take a deep breath and follow the tips below for igniting that creative spark.

Take a walk

There is just something about fresh air. Peel your body off that desk chair, slip on your tennis shoes, and hit the sidewalk. Get your blood flowing and heart rate up, even if it's just for five minutes. Take some time to admire your surroundings, listen to the subtle noises of the birds and the wind, and watch the clouds move above you. There is so much beauty in nature and you are bound to find something that inspires creative thoughts.

Talk to a friend

Teamwork makes the dream work. When your brainstorming efforts are going around in circles, phone a friend. Getting another person's perspective on an idea or talking out your thoughts can be very beneficial. Bounce ideas off of each other until you make a breakthrough.

Take a shower

The power a hot shower can hold. Take your mind off your assignment and take a nice long shower. Cleanse your body while also cleansing your mind. Trust me, you will feel better and be prepared to be more productive.

Listen to music

Music provides such a sweet escape from reality. Put those headphones in and listen to the story the lyrics and the beats are conveying. Think about what you can take away from what you are feeling from the music. Channel that into your work.

Clean up

Messy space = messy thoughts. Take a break and organize your workspace. By having a clean environment, your thoughts can dance more freely, without distraction.

Sleep on it

When you have come to a standstill with your thoughts, sometimes it is better to leave it be, get a good night's rest, and look at your problem in the morning with fresh eyes. Your mind will be much more at ease and you will be ready to conquer your situation.

Eat a snack

There is not much a good snack doesn't fix. Take a break and grab a snack when you are lacking creativity. Try a healthy snack such as fruit, nuts, or dark chocolate that contains antioxidants and other nutrients to increase productivity and boost brainpower.

Hope these tips are helpful for your creative processes. Now go off and be confident to unleash your amazing creative ideas.
