With the holiday season in full swing, a lot of stress can be placed on people. Whether it’s finding the perfect gift for your loved ones or mustering up the courage to tackle awkward conversations during dinner with your family like the good old, “Have you decided what you’re going to do after graduation?” stress can come in all forms during this time of the year. Here are three different ideas on how to de-stress during this time of year:
Go for a walk or drive: One good thing about the holidays is holiday decorations and lights! Take the time to go for a walk or take a drive through different neighborhoods and the downtown area to see all of the pretty lights and decorations.
Bake or cook: Baking is one of my favorite ways to relieve stress and you get a treat at the very end! Here is my favorite cookie recipe:
2 sticks of butter
1 cup white sugar
1 cup brown sugar
MIX
2 eggs
2 tbsp vanilla extract
2 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour
1 tsp salt
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
MIX
add m&m/chocolate
PUT IN FRIDGE FOR 2 HOURS
BAKE @ 350 for 12 minutes (keep an eye on them take out when edges start to brown)
Journal: This is the perfect time of year to start journaling! Writing down your thoughts and feelings is a great way to relieve stress. Places like TJMaxx and Marshall’s always have nice journals to pick from at their stores.
While there is no end all be all cure for stress, if you try at least one of these tips the holiday season could become a tad less stressful!
