Got a nut too big to crack? Nonsense, we’ll show you how…

Hey, so you have a problem that you just can’t solve. We’ve all been there, whether it’s relationship trouble, judgmental friends, or a workplace rival. Today, we’re gonna go over a couple of tips for how you might actually solve that annoying problem once and for all!

First, three things: the problem has to be interesting, important, and you have to be motivated to solve it. How interesting a problem is (to you) is based on the amount of emotional satisfaction you’ll derive from solving it. The problem needs to be important enough (to you) that you are okay investing the large amount of energy and time it may require to solve correctly. Motivation is usually created by a deadline, or some window of opportunity closing where you will no longer be able to use the answer to the problem, which creates a sense of urgency.

Now that we have gotten those necessities out of the way, on to the strategies. Look at the problem from a variety of angles to get a grasp of the whole picture, then start filling in the details. Make sure you can focus on the problem, by setting aside a routine period of time with no distractions. Don’t impose a false time limit on yourself, but rather allow yourself the room to grow. Be creative and make mistakes. Don’t be afraid to ask for help, sometimes another person’s opinion will provide the breakthrough you need. Use the real world to test your solutions, then make refinements. And finally, sometimes you just won’t solve a problem; that’s okay, just put it on the shelf and come back to it later (like in 6 months).

Now you’re ready, go off and conquer the world! Or something like that… but please first leave your comments below. :)
